Some webmasters might not know what working well for their website is and what is not, because of Google’s rapidly changing search algorithm  SEO  is getting more difficult surviving this competitive age of search marketing.
After taking a deep dive into search marketing strategies I have come to a point, that some techniques that might work well before is no longer of value to your site for good SEO, and may even get your website penalized by Google.

Here I have come to a decision and recommend this to every novice webmaster, to avoid these top 5 SEO techniques immediately.

Blog Commenting

Usually blog commenting is good SEO practices, because the comment section is a life blood for every blog. You can share your thoughts with a fellow blogger on a specific topic relevant to your website niche. However recent investigation has shown that people are using blog commenting as their primary link building strategy, by using exact match anchor text, rather using their real name to get a back-link for their website. Excessive use of the blog commenting with “exact match anchor text” may have an adverse effect on SEO, even your website may get penalized.

Over Optimized Anchor Text

Prior to Google, Penguin & panda update exact match anchor text optimization was working superbly to increase targeted keyword traffic to a website. However now it’s bad seo practice, if you overly optimized your website with exact match “Anchor Text” your website will be penalized & de-indexed from google search.

To comply with google search policies, use naked “URLs” or you can also use your business name or a long phrase anchor text to your inbound links.

Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing (Excessive use of one specific keyword) is another bad SEO practice. People usually stuff their targeted keywords in Title, Description, Keyword Meta tags and Page Content to achieve higher ranking on search results for that specific keyword, doing this may penalize your website, which will be dire on your part.

Instead maintain your keyword ratio or keyword density up to 5-6% max in whole article body.

Spammy Guest Blogging

Guest Blog posting is the most powerful SEO technique that plays an important role in building high quality backlinks, which helps improving your company’s online reputation and brand awareness. You can reach potential audiences & readers through another blogs popularity it also help you gain high authoritative backlinks. Due to these importance’s many people have misused it for creating hundreds of unnatural links pointing to their website, and spammed it by posting Spammy, low-quality contents.

If you are using this technique or accepting guest posts on your blog, you should immediately stop. Because the current statement from Google’s Web spam head, Matt Cutts has declared this in his blog post, The Decay and fall of guest blogging for seo. If you are building unnatural links from irrelevant blogs with low-quality content, your website may get penalized.

Building Excessive Low Quality Backlinks

Before 2010 having many links was all imperative from the point of SEO, the more links pointing to your website, the more your website will increase rankings in search results. However it does not apply in 2014; the current google update to search have changed this strategy. Now your website should have less but high quality backlinks to gain higher search engine visibility. If your website found having high volume of low-quality backlinks, your website may get penalized.

These are just some of the examples that you should avoid using immediately for SEO purpose, google wants your site to have natural backlink, but remember that SEO is not dead. It has just changed for a better future of this online world. Only the one who is providing informative, useful, Quality and efficient services will survive this completion.
